Edit Song allows the editing of the MP3 files that will be saved in the Song category. The interface functions are grouped in four main areas:

Command > contains the main actions of the interface.

Mpeg Player > represents the audio player.

Record > displays/allows the song info editing

Database Contents > displays the database contents.

Command > defines the possible actions in Edit Song. These are:

New Record > editing of a new recording from the buffer zone. To edit click the New Record button and choose a file from the buffer zone. If you work on a Station computer, Local Buffer represents the contents of the c:\studio II\buffer and on the MAINSERVER, Buffer represents the MAINSERVER’s buffer (by network mapping is z:\studio II\buffer).

The editing fields signification:

• Artist > artist name.
• Song > song name.
• Album > song's album.
• Year > song's year.
• Genre > song genre (can be selected from the predefined genre list).
• InTime > the file position from where the song will be played. This function was implemented to avoid the blank seconds from the beginning of some songs. The InTime mark is done with the F1-F4 keys. To see how the InTime marking is done switch to Mpeg Player in play mode and click the specified time edited in the box near InTime.
• Intro > the current song intro edit. Its mark is done with the F5 - F8 keys. For the mark listening use the above method.
• OutTime > specifies the position from which the current song will be mixed with the next. The marking is done with the F9-F12 keys. For the mark listening use the InTime or Intro method.
• PGC > used to specify the entering priority in the automatic generated playlists. To be considered by the Playlist Generator mechanism, the value must be greater than 3.
• Beat > specifies the current song beat. Can be selected by pressing the Space key after the Beat button is pressed or it is automatically selected with the genre choosing.

Note:

The read only files cannot be edited.

The songs cannot be pre-listened if the monitoring system is not activated.

Modify record > allows the already edited recordings to be modified. Choose Modify Record, select from the Database Contents the desired artist, the song and in the Record group box fields the information for the selected recording will be displayed (quickly after the selection is done). After the modification choose STORE.

Store > saves the edited information. If we are in the New Record editing module then the file will be moved from the buffer zone to one of the logical partition of the MAINSERVER.

Remove > deletes the current recording from the database. The file is moved in the \\studio II\MyRecycled on the MAINSERVER. This precaution is taken to avoid the permanent loss of data.

Refresh Data > executes a local database update, according to the last changes made in the Mainserver database.

Note:

Do not delete all the files from the Song category!

Frequently delete the files from MyRecycled to avoid overloading the c:\ partition of the MAINSERVER.

I/O Data > allows the import/export of audio files along with their information. This facility will be explained in the last section.
