The Professional Studio XP-I Package works on Windows 95/98//Millenium/Pro 2000/NT/XP operating systems.

For a correct configuration of the software before its installation the following must be kept in mind:

1.

If the HDD is bigger than 6GB, we recommend it’s partitioning in 4-8 logical partitions to ensure a quick access to the data. The software is automatically installed on the c:\ partition and it is recommended to have at least 500 MB of free space before the installation. The audio files are automatically copied on all the HDD’s logical partitions the software is allowed to.

2.

The maximum number of logical partitions that can be used by the software is eight. We recommend the use of at least two logical partitions, to ensure the database backup on a different partition than the software’s and the operating system’s one.

3.

The system date and time setting

4.

Network configuration

[Windows Start Button > Settings >Control Panel > Network]

Connection: Client for Microsoft Networks
Protocol : TCP/IP, specified IP

If the Windows 2000/NT or based on NT technology is not used, then the resources must be shared, to be able to be accessed by network. For this the following service must be installed:

Service : File and printer sharing for Microsoft Network

Observations:

If new HDD are inserted into the system after the software is installed, the logical partitions identifiers re-mapping is very important. Otherwise the data from the database will not be reflected on the hard disk’s information. This is a must, because when a new hard disk is inserted, a new allocation of identifiers takes place and the information that once was on the d:\ logical partition could be moved on e:\ or f:\ …

The software works with Mpeg Layer 3, 128 KBps, 44100KHz, 16 bits, Stereo files. It will accept files with a greater bit rate, but considering the local area network real time work possibility, the transfer or editing of larger files will lead to a network overload.

Note:

The network configuration, meaning computer name, IP address, resource sharing, MAINSERVER password setting is very important. This configuration must be done before running Administrative Tools software, which configures the Professional Studio XP-I package taking into consideration the network settings.
