The MAINSERVER system is the file
server (the radio stations digital archive), the data server and
it represents the main computer for the Professional Studio XP-I package.
It can run any module and it is recommended to install all the modules
on it to ensure the systems function in the case of network
breakdowns.
That is why the MAINSERVER computer must
be very stable, fast hard disks containing, a lot of RAM memory and a
powerful processor. The recommended configuration for the MAINSERVER system:
|
|
MAINSERVER system for Professional Studio XP-I with more
than one DJ Console
|
|
- MB VIA Apollo PRO 133, AT/ATX, (Socket FCPGA),PIII
- CPU Pentium IV 1,2 GHz, Intel
- Cooler P IV
- DIMM 256 MB SDRAM, PC133
- HDD 40 GB MAXTOR, Ultra ATA/100, 7200 rpm, 2 MB
- FDD 3.5"
- Video Card 32MB, AGP
- Monitor 15" 1024x768NI, digital
- Case miditower ATX
- Keyboard Win 95
- Mouse + Pad
- CD-ROM 48X
- Network card PCI FastEthernet, 100Mb, UTP
|
|
For the computer that runs the MAINSERVER module
we recommend a midi-tower or maxi-tower case, well ventilated. This system
works with no breaks, some times having more than one hard disk. We recommend
its ventilation with one more cooler, other than the processors
one or the one belonging to the power source.
For the computers used for workstations [works in LAN] the
minimum configuration is presented below:
|
|
STATION system for Professional Studio XP-I [minimum configuration]
|
|
- CPU Pentium II 400 MHz, Intel
- 128 MB RAM
- Sound card
- Network card PCI FastEthernet, 100Mb, UTP
|
|
This minimum configuration is recommended also for the systems
that run the Edit Record, Report&Settings and event modules. If we
have installed a DJConsole module then 128MB RAM and a 600Mhz
processor are needed.
The DJConsole represents the working module for the DJ and
can be run in the local area network, using the MAINSERVERs database.
With this module there can be created separate broadcast lines, or produce
shows for recording purpose as if it was created in the broadcast studio.
The recommended sound cards for the DJConsole systems are:

|
|
- CRYSTAL, 3D, ISA
- Yamaha OPL 3 SAX, ISA
- AWE 64 Gold
- Creative SB PCI 128
- PCI o Creative LIVE Value
- Creative AUDIGY
|
| The
software uses one sound card for broadcasting and the other for pre-listening.
The
pre-listening sound card can be used to edit the audio records even if
the computer is ON AIR.
The sound cards connecting and their connection to the mixer,
with the possibility to monitor the satellite audio channels is presented
below:

For a good function of the Professional Studio XP-I Package
in a local area network (LAN), it is recommended the use of network cards
PCI fast Ethernet, 100Mb, and a UTP cabling. If you use 10/100 network
cards, use Hubs that can transfer the information at 10/100. On the local
area networks function depends in large amount the broadcast audio
signal stability, because of the delays that can appear at the editing
or in general work.
