QSound Soft: Radio Automation Software, Network Broadcast, Targeted Advertising

The software products developed especially for radio stations represent a percentage of 70-80 of the QSound SOFT developing activity. We try to create new applications and develop the gamut of radio software products, by constantly improving and adding new facilities to our applications. We' ve started in 1996 with our first product, Studio Standard, and today we have a series pf applications that work together with Studio. Thus, we can enumerate some of them: Commercials Manager, Playlist Manager, Back-up Studio, I-Net, InteractiveFM, RDS Controller, Digital Recorder or OnLine Messages, all of them working as native interfaces for the new application, Enterprise Studio.

Studio Q

The new Studio Q brings new facilities to the Studio package starting from the graphical interfaces' development to 1280x1024 resolutions up to new functions in DJ Console, Edit Record, Report&Settings, Commercials Manager or Playlist Manager modules. BSQ-Studio

The BSQ system is dedicated to the radio networks, being created for the complete management of the local stations from a single location ( The central station). It implements automate transferring functions of the audio files on internet, publicity grills, playlists, reports from/to The Central station, it has loading mechanisms of these files into the softs broadcast of the local stations. The local soft will receive the signals for inserts through satelite or internet, all the operations from the local station being automatically done, with no human operator intervention.

Enterprise Studio

The new Enterprise Studio application is the successor of Professional Studio XP-I, being a newer version that substantially improves the modules of files editing, DJ console (the one that controls the broadcasting) and the security in the local network. At the same time, weve created new commands of synchronization, for controlling the radio networks via satellite, and our data bases can carry up to 20 simultaneous users.

The new version of the publicity campaigns programming implements a system of managing the jingles/ accapella, respectively all the auto auto promoting materials of the radio station. Divided into classes, subclasses, with data and time intervals defining modules, in which these auto promoting materials are available, they are going to be automatically programmed among with the publicity grill, taking into consideration the restrictions imposed by the sales/ programming departments.

Playlist Manager v2.0

The application is a musical selector that can be natively interfaced with Enterprise Studio or Professional Studio XP-I versions. The songs automatically import in, from the Studio database, the user having only to define the radio station musical trend. It is allowed to define the seasons or to personalize the musical programs in a season according to the strategy of the programming department. When all the settings are done, Playlist Manager will generate the playlist for the selected days, and it will be able to automatically export the playlist into the emission software.

Back-Up Studio

In order to guarantee a 24/24 hour transmission, no matter of the technical problems that may occur in a non-stop broadcasting radio station, we’ve created a mirroring system of the broadcast. Thus, the audio files, data from databases are automatically copied on a second broadcasting system, prepared to take over the broadcast when a hardware component of the main system is down. By implementing the Enterprise Studio system with the back-up functions, there’s no possibility of interrupting the broadcast because of software or hardware reasons.

The application makes tests on a regular basis for the presence of the Studio Q process, and in case this is missing restarts the broadcast application.

Using Q Supervisor you have an 24/24 h of guaranteed broadcast.

Digital Recorder

The digital witness tape encodes in mp3 format, in real time at the parameters set by the users, the radio station broadcast- which is organized on years, months, days and hour intervals. An audio file records an hour of emission, the finding of the information being extremely simple. Two versions of this application are available today : DR Light or Professional. The difference between the two versions refers to DR Professional facilities of preferential encoding of specific intervals to different parameters. Thus, the radio transmission may be recorded at a low quality, while some broadcasts, such as the news or some programs that should repeat, are recorded at high quality, in order to be retransmitted without any changes.

QSS- 1045 Audio Stereo Switcher

Audio Programming Commutation System, 3 channels, stereo
The hardware device permits the audio back-up assurance for the broadcast systems of the local radio stations( from the radio network). It supervises in automatical mode the entrance level for the satelite audio signal, and in his absence, it commuts automatically into another entrance until the signal returns on the main entrance. It can communicate to the Central station through internet (within the soft delivered by QSound Soft) the lack of signal from a certain location. It is natively interfaced with BSQ application. It has mixing facilities (automatical mode), audio channels pre-listening, bass setting, treble, gain etc. these functions being totally appealed from the delivered software together with the AS QSS 1045.
